Welcome to EduMate ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience on our mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use EduMate.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect via the App includes:

A. Personal Data

Demographic and other personally identifiable information that you voluntarily give to us when registering with the App. This includes your:

• Name
• Email address
• Roll Number
• Section and Semester

B. SAPSync Portal Credentials

EduMate offers a "SAPSync" feature that allows you to sync your university attendance and schedule. When you use SAPSync, you input your university portal credentials. We do not store your SAP password on our servers. Your SAP credentials and synced data are stored securely and locally on your device using encrypted storage.

C. Device Data

Device information, such as your mobile device ID, model, and manufacturer, and information about the location of your device, if you choose to grant the App access to your device's location to use our campus map feature.

2. How We Use Your Information

Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you via the App to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Sync and display your personalized timetable and attendance.
• Provide the "Friends Schedule" feature so you can compare schedules with peers.
• Monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve your experience with the App.

3. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others. We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations:

• By Law or to Protect Rights: If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others.
• Other Users: If you use the Friends Schedule feature, your name, roll number, and schedule may be visible to other students who add you via your roll number.

4. Security of Your Information

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.

5. Data Deletion

You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. You can delete your account and all associated data directly within the EduMate App by navigating to Settings > Delete Account. This action is irreversible and will permanently remove your information from our servers.
